Charlotte Hornets backup point guard Jeremy Lin is one of the better point guards entering free agency. Here are five teams that aren’t good fits for Lin.

A short four seasons ago, former Harvard Crimson point guard Jeremy Lin set Madison Square Garden on fire with his outstanding play for the New York Knicks in the phenomenon known as Linsanity.

While he hasn’t eclipsed and frankly never will surpass his fantastic two-week stretch with the 2011-12 Knicks, Lin has been a serviceable NBA point guard for the last four years. Though he has bounced around just about every year since leaving the Big Apple after the 2011-12 NBA season, Lin emerges as one of the better point guards hitting 2016 NBA free agency.

Though he is a fringe starting point guard at best at this stage of his NBA career, he is more than capable of coming off the bench in a sixth man role for a playoff caliber team in either conference. He has a great feel for the game and still has that incredible touch on plays in the paint.

While it might be in his best interest to go ahead and sign with a mediocre/bad team to be a starter in 2016-17 and make a ton of money in the process, it wouldn’t be wise for him to sign with any of these five teams in 2016 NBA free agency. Being underpaid with the Charlotte Hornets for another is definitely a better option than these five potential free agency destinations for the veteran point guard.
