Andrew Luck now holds the biggest contract in NFL history. Here are five players who arguably deserve it more.

Wednesday, Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts signed Andrew Luck to a 140 million dollar contract to be paid out over six years. It’s the biggest contract in the history of the National Football League. Andrew Luck was absolutely abysmal in 2015, charting some of the lowest statistics in his career before sustaining an injury. The Colts went a middling 8-8, but apparently that was enough to lock up Andrew Luck for the next six years.

This brings us to a huge question: did Andrew Luck deserve this contract? The statistics would argue no, but the intangibles that Andrew Luck bring would argue yes. The Colts could have spent more on their offensive line, or went after a few wide receivers to help Luck in this endeavor, but apparently Irsay thinks the Colts can win with Andrew Luck and three tackling dummies, a scarecrow, and the hologram of Jeff Saturday protecting him.
