Identifying the top high salary and value second baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your June 29 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Jean Segura, Diamondbacks (5,000): Segura has six hits in his last three games and has hit double-digit fantasy points in three of his last five games. Perhaps most notably, he continues to steal bases at a major rate. He has seven stolen bases in June, which has bumped his season total to 13 (tied for ninth in the majors). Segura is hitting .323 against righties, so he should be able to exploit Wednesday’s matchup with Philadelphia Phillies rookie Zach Eflin (0-2, 6.28 ERA).
Brian Dozier, Twins (4,600): Dozier is on a major tear, having hit four home runs in his last three games. This includes a two-home run, 35-fantasy point outing on Tuesday night. Dozier has a great chance to stay hot Wednesday against Chicago White Sox veteran righty James Shields (2-9, 6.22 ERA). Dozier is 8-for-22 with six extra-base hits in his career against Shields.
High Value
Phil Gosselin, Diamondbacks (3,100): Arizona has one of the highest team totals (5.1 runs) on the board Wednesday, outside of Colorado. Gosselin is expected to hit in the top third of the lineup, meaning he’ll be cheap exposure to a solid fantasy game. Gosselin is hitting 40 points higher against righties than lefties, so the matchup (Philadelphia rookie Zach Eflin) also works in his favor.
Neil Walker, Mets (2,700): This is a GPP-only play, considering his matchup with Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer (8-5, 3.52 ERA). But at this dirt-cheap price, Walker is an interesting play. He’s 3-for-12 with two home runs in his career against Scherzer. Not many players can say they’ve homered off Scherzer twice, so Walker clearly is doing something right (when he makes contact, at least).
