The San Antonio Spurs took a bit of a step back this past season, failing to reach the Western Conference Finals. Here are five free agents they should target for next season.

Last season, the San Antonio Spurs lost to the Oklahoma City Thunder in six games in the Western Conference semifinals, ending what could be the last season in future Hall of Famer Tim Duncan’s career. Tuesday, Duncan picked up his player option for next season, though he is still undecided on whether to retire.

The Spurs have been a perennial contender in the Western Conference for years, featuring a “Big 3” of Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Tim Duncan. Ginobili is likely to return next season, but neither he nor Parker are the players they once were. The organization is looking to put another “Big 3” together, and they already have two of the three on their roster.

LaMarcus Aldrige and Kawhi Leonard are two of the better players in the National Basketball Association, and are only going to be better next season after playing together for the first time during the 2015-16 campaign. The organization will make a big splash this off-season, as some of the biggest names in the sport have expressed their interest in playing for legendary coach Gregg Popovich.

The Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder have seemingly passed the Spurs in the Western Conference, but that could all change with this off-season. The Spurs will undoubtedly be in the running for a championship next season, and in order to do that, will have to add to an already solid roster of players.

Here is a look at five free agent targets the Spurs should go after this off-season.
