Five teams that would be the worst fits for Dwight Howard in 2016 NBA free agency.

The NBA is full of divisive players, but very few, if any, inspire such strong opinions as Dwight Howard. And those strong opinions only make his impeding free agency more interesting.

Obviously, the Houston Rockets’ Dwight Howard era didn’t go as well as originally expected. The center contributed at least in part to the team’s massive chemistry issues, and he never fully bought into what the coaches wanted him to do. On top of that, he’s now seemingly past his prime, and both his skills and physical tools are declining.

However, Howard is still going to be one of the hottest free agent commodities on the open market this offseason. Even in decline, he is a good enough player to be highly beneficial to the right team in the right situation.

By the same token, he could have a detrimental impact on the wrong team in the wrong situation. Needless to say, if Howard ends up on the wrong team, it will be a disaster for everyone involved.

With that in mind, here are the five teams Dwight Howard should avoid in NBA free agency.
