5. Milwaukee Bucks

This might come as a shock considering the Milwaukee Bucks are one of the early frontrunners in the race to sign Howard. However, I think it would be an absolutely horrendous fit for the veteran center, and would put both the player and the organization in awful positions.

The Bucks have a very promising young core in Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jabari Parker and Khris Middleton. Whether that core can live up to the hype remains to be seen, but the organization’s main focus right now should be cultivating their talent. As stated, Howard is on the wrong side of his prime and putting him on a roster with a collection of players in their early-to-mid 20s who are still growing together simply doesn’t make sense from a logistical standpoint.

What’s more, the Bucks just made a big splash by signing Greg Monroe, and that move has worked out awfully for them. So while there’s a chance Milwaukee could work out a sign-and-trade that would land them Howard and send Monroe packing, they must ask themselves if they really want to mess with their chemistry for a center with obvious flaws. Signing Howard would spell nothing but trouble for the Bucks.
