3. Dallas Mavericks

If there is one team that will be hot after Dwight Howard in free agency it’s the Dallas Mavericks. The team lost out on center DeAndre Jordan last year and the team is still in need of adding a rim protector.

Under Mark Cuban, the Mavericks have always chased the big free agent, but they have always fallen short. The good news is that there are so many good players available in free agency this year, that they stand a good chance to land one if they’re diligent.

Even though their team is on the older side of things and doesn’t really boast any young talent, the Mavericks will always remain competitive as long as Dirk Nowitzki is on the roster. Conventional wisdom says that he should return to Dallas, especially if they show that they are going to bring players in to the roster.

Ever since it was reported that Howard was unhappy in Houston, there were links to the Mavericks. If Chandler Parsons stays in Dallas, then you know he’s going to work on recruiting his friend to Dallas.

This seems like one of the best bets for Howard’s next landing spot in the NBA.
