NBA Free Agency: Mavericks frontrunner for Hassan Whiteside
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as the frontrunner for center Hassan Whiteside.

Free agency in the NBA hasn’t officially started yet, but it appears that time hasn’t stopped from teams beginning anyways. One of the biggest prizes in free agency is center Hassan Whiteside and he’s reportedly set to meet with the Dallas Mavericks once free agency begins.
Well it appears their meeting should be pretty quick. According to Adrian Wojnarowski, the Mavericks have emerged as the frontrunner for Whiteside and the Miami Heat are losing ground on the center.

After being spurned by DeAndre Jordan last season, the Mavericks are finally landing their center this year and this should go a long way to compete them a competitive team in the hunt for a playoff spot.
The Heat have plenty of irons in the fire and re-signing Whiteside was always going to be tough because they don’t have his “Bird Rights” to make re-signing him a lot easier. If the Mavericks can land Whiteside, it could make them more appealing for other free agents that are out there.
