Last night, one of the big rumors ahead of free agency was that the Oklahoma City Thunder were going to try and clear to cap space to lure Al Horford to town in hopes of keeping Kevin Durant.
To do that, the Thunder would have to find a trade partner for Enes Kanter and clear some space in other areas. Well it appears that they’re trying to do just that. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Thunder are trying to find a team to absorb the contract of Kanter.
OKC, meanwhile, continues to probe the league for potential trade partners to take on Enes Kanter to free up money for a run at Al Horford

While Kanter is on a very manageable contract and could be good value under the new salary cap, they’re trying to trade him to a team and take almost no money back so they can make a run at Horford.
That’s where things get difficult and they will almost have to trade away some assets with him to get a team to take on his contract. A young team that isn’t in the playoff hunt and is building with young talent would be wise to consider perhaps making a move for Kanter and adding a quality young big man to their roster.
