Washington Wizards: Show Kevin Durant tapes of Cleveland’s parade

The Wizards have one of the more dynamic young backcourts in the NBA. John Wall is a top-flight point guard with elite-level skills, and while Bradley Beal can’t seem to stay on the floor on a consistent basis, the tools are there for the former Florida shooting guard to become a borderline star. Sadly, Washington’s other assets are not nearly up to par, and as constructed, this is a borderline playoff team rather than a title contender.

Enter Kevin Durant and a massive homecoming.

LeBron James brought the title home to Cleveland in June, and it was the biggest party the city has ever seen. Durant is famously from the D.C. area, and while that hasn’t been terribly appealing to him in public, perhaps LeBron’s accomplishments could light a competitive fire for his contemporary to try and bring a title to the Wizards franchise.

It would not be the worst basketball decision in the world given the presence of Wall and Beal (in addition to Otto Porter, Marcin Gortat and others), and Kevin Durant would earn a lot of goodwill by going home to rescue the franchise. It’s at least plausible… maybe.
