Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 1 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
George Springer, Astros (5,200): Springer closed out June by hitting safely in five of his last season seven games, but he finished with a .202 average for the month. The Astros’ young leadoff hitter has a great chance to start July off on a better note with a matchup with Chicago White Sox right-hander Miguel Gonzalez (1-3, 5.17 ERA). Springer is 4-for-9 with a double and two home runs in his career against Gonzalez.
Jackie Bradley Jr., Red Sox (4,900): Virtually all of the Boston batters make fine plays at home Friday against Los Angeles Angels right-hander Jhoulys Chacin (3-6, 5.64 ERA), but Bradley is one of the better ones. He’s hitting .312 against righties this season, but he’s also hitting 70 points higher at Fenway Park than he is on the road. Start Bradley with confidence on Friday.
High Value
Carlos Gonzalez, Rockies (3,400): OK, this price tag is just way, way too low for a player of Gonzalez’s caliber. The Colorado outfielder has 13 hits (three home runs) and 13 RBIs over his last seven games. He’s hitting .349 against right-handers, so the matchup with new Los Angeles Dodgers acquisition Bud Norris (3-7, 4.22 ERA) is one he can exploit.
Alex Gordon, Royals (3,100): It’s been a quiet, frustrating season for Gordon, but he’s in a nice spot for fantasy purposes on Friday. All five of Gordon’s home runs this season have come against right-handed pitchers. He’s also 8-for-16 in his career against Philadelphia Phillies starter Jeremy Hellickson (5-6, 4.23 ERA). For this cheap price, Gordon is worth consideration.
