Identifying the top high salary and value third baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 1 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Jake Lamb, Diamondbacks (5,100): Lamb doesn’t have the easiest matchup in the world Friday night (San Francisco Giants’ Johnny Cueto), but he’s worth a play simply because of his performance against right-handed pitching this season. He’s hitting .311 with 14 homers against righties, compared to .196 and three home runs against lefties. He’s also homered in two straight games, and has a chance to keep that streak going Friday at Chase Field.
Manny Machado, Orioles (4,800): Machado is red-hot entering play Friday night. He carries a 10-game hitting streak into the road matchup with Seattle. That stretch includes six games of double-digit fantasy production. His .352 average against lefties this season bodes well for his matchup with southpaw Wade LeBlanc, who will be making just his second start of the season.
High Value
Nolan Arenado, Rockies (3,800): Arenado, like most of his Colorado teammates, has seen his price drop drastically with the start of a weekend series in Los Angeles. This is a great chance to capitalize on a clearly underpriced talent. Arenado enters Friday’s matchup against Bud Norris (3-7, 4.22 ERA) on a 12-game hitting streak. He’s a great value play.
Kyle Seager, Mariners (3,800): Like Arenado, Seager seems underpriced given his talent and production this season. In particular, he’s dominated right-handed pitching to the tune of a .311 average and 10 of his 15 total home runs. That alone makes him worthy of consideration against Baltimore Orioles righty Kevin Gausman (1-5, 3.93 ERA).
