Dallas Mavericks

The Mavericks have been around the block a few times. This is a franchise that is so used to winning the fans have forgotten what it looks like. They’ve missed the playoffs a total of once since 2000, and their owner, Mark Cuban, is not going to let that change anytime soon. The organization knows how to be successful, and when players show loyalty to them they return it back in spades. Dirk Nowitzki is an MVP, a title winner, and the most beloved man in the franchise, but he’s aging. His chances for a title are dwindling fast.

Durant can come in, be the guy, and lead Dirk on one last title chase. Send Dirk out as a winner and Durant will be loved by more fans than he can possibly imagine. He’ll be immortal in Mavericks lore for eternity, and then after that the team will be all his. Everything they do will be built around him just like they did for Dirk, and then when Durant’s days are coming to an end this same franchise will do whatever they can to make him happy. He’ll also get warm tTexas weather, no state income tax, and a warlock for a coach in Rick Carlisle. This team and Durant were made for each other.
