Philadelphia 76ers: Sign SG Bradley Beal.

It seems the Philadelphia 76ers are finally going to stop hypertanking in the 2016-17 NBA season. While the 76ers are still probably the worst team in the NBA, they do have the No. 1 overall pick in Ben Simmons and a few interesting front court players in Nerlens Noel and the incoming Dario Saric to name a few.

What Philadelphia needs to do more than anything is to address its backcourt incompetencies by targeting either a pointĀ guard or a shooting guard. Though Robert Covington has been a nice find for the 76ers and Nik Stauskas can still grow entering his third professional season, Philadelphia might want to overhaul its back court if it wants to win more than 20 games this season.

While the 76ers would prefer to get a keen ball handler and distributor at the point over a catch-and-shoot guy, an improvement at either position will go a long way in improving this team. Keep in mind that Simmons has a stellar handle at the point forward if it really comes down to it for 76ers head coach Brett Brown.

With Philadelphia honestly going to try in 2016 NBA free agency, the one player they should avoid signing is Washington Wizards talented, but always hurt shooting guard Bradley Beal. Beal is only 22 years old, but has become a great complimentary player for point guard John Wall in Washington.

Beal envisions that he’ll get a max this summer. He probably will, as wings seem to have a stranglehold on the market. The problem is that it’s not question of if, but when Beal will get hurt. He has never shown the ability to play a full 82-game season in four years with the Wizards. While he’s a good player, Beal is not the type of max player the 76ers should look to sign, as his health issues are too risky forĀ that kind of money.

Next: Phoenix Suns.
