4. Brandon Bass

By providing consistent tenacity and sound fundamentals, Bass was one of the scarce bright spots in the Lakers’ line-up last season. In 2015-2016, Bass averaged 7.2 points and 4.3 rebounds a game – shooting with 54 percent accuracy.

A power forward who can play the post game on a consistent basis is starting to become a rare thing in the NBA these days, as many big men are relying heavily on athletic ability as opposed to using fancy footwork.

Bass provides the best of both worlds, as he can both shake and bake defenders and display a decent set of hops at the same time. If Hornacek is intent on transforming the Knicks into a more pointed squad offensively, Bass could come in handy during second chance situations as he’s continually reaching for missed buckets.

Bass’ dedication to the offensive rebound had been in question for a long while during his Celtics days, but as he’s taken to a less tiring role as a second unit, it appears that he’s got the energy to at least put up some effort on both sides of the court.
