The Memphis Grizzlies have had a busy first day of free agency. First they inked Chandler Parsons to a huge contract and then they signed Mike Conley to the richest contract in NBA history.
While all of that could have been enough for Memphis to call it a free agency period, it doesn’t appear that the team is done yet. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Grizzlies are trying to sign free agent guard Eric Gordon, but need to clear cap space in order to do so.
Memphis, meanwhile, only has an $8+ million chunk of cap space left but I'm told they're trying to make sufficient room to land Eric Gordon

With the money that is being handed out on the open market currently, the Grizzlies would have to almost double their cap space, which could mean trading some players that are fan favorites like a Zach Randolph or a Tony Allen.
Regardless, the Grizzlies are going all in on free agency and are trying to add a little more offensive firepower to their defensive unit. It’s been a successful free agency thus far, but whether or not they can clear the cap space remains to be seen.
The Knicks are also reportedly in on Gordon as well, according to Stein.
