4. Chicago Bulls

The Chicago Bulls recently traded away longtime “face of the franchise”, Derrick Rose, to the New York Knicks for center Robin Lopez, and point guards Jose Calderon and Jerian Grant. The Bulls then drafted Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine in an effort to fortify the position, but the team will still likely be players in free agency.

While the Bulls obviously need a starting caliber point, they also need a player who can create for others. Aside from Jimmy Butler, not a single person on the roster can be relied upon to consistently locate their own shot and take advantage of a mismatch. As a player who likes the ball in his hands, Rondo fits that mold perfectly, often elevating the offensive production of his teammates.

As for Butler, who is now the undisputed leader of the team, this acquisition may allow him to grow into the great offensive weapon many believe he has the potential to become. Butler and Rose seemingly did not mesh well together as both have similar offensive skill sets, resulting in one sitting back while the other dominated the ball looking to score.

Like the Nets, the Bulls do not have as much cash as other teams to throw at Rondo, but Chicago provides a much better opportunity to win now.
