The New York Knicks are reportedly going after Eric Gordon as their top target on the perimeter in 2016 NBA free agency

To say that the New York Knicks already made a splash this offseason would be entirely understating the situation. Not only did they pull off the Derrick Rose trade that landed them the injury-riddled point guard from the Chicago Bulls, but they have also reportedly agreed to a deal with veteran center Joakim Noah in 2016 NBA free agency. Now the Knicks have their sights on another player.

According to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, the Knicks have moved free agent shooting guard Eric Gordon up to the top of their list in regards to perimeter targets and are already in discussions about a possible deal:

If Eric Gordon were healthy, this would be a move that would be actually quite incredible for the Knicks. Gordon is a player that can score in a variety of ways off of the wing and could really be an asset for the Knicks.

Of course, Gordon being healthy happens about as often as a sighting of Halley’s Comet.

Gordon has been injury plagued for almost the entirety of his career and seemingly nothing he’s done allows him to stay healthy. Considering that he’d be joining two other players with awful injury histories in Rose and Noah, that’s not a great look for the Knicks—you know, unless they’re trying to fill the all-physical-therapy team with their own players.
