NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bucks signing Matthew Dellavedova to four-year deal
By Jack Crosby
Matthew Dellavedova will have a new home come next season, as he’ll be signing with the Milwaukee Bucks
Matthew Dellavedova has made a name for himself as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers the past two seasons during their playoff runs, but now his time in “The Land” has come to an end. According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the free agent point guard will be signing with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Bucks’ hope here is that Dellavedova can provide the same reliable depth off the bench that he provided the Cavaliers the past two seasons. Two seasons ago he had to step in when Kyrie Irving went down with injury in the NBA Finals, and he was an integral part of the team as well this past season en route to the Cavaliers winning the NBA Championship by stunning the Golden State Warriors.
And as far as the contract goes, considering the market this free agency period, the Bucks actually got Dellavedova for pretty good value. We’re seeing a lot of role players walk away with some insane deals, but this one makes sense for the most part.
In his three seasons in the NBA as an undrafted free agent from St. Mary’s, the Australian native averages 5.7 points per game with 3.4 assists, but he’s more well known for what he can bring to the table on the defensive end of the floor and, of course, whenever there’s a loose ball on the court — as we’ve seen time and time again.
