Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 2 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Buster Posey, Giants (4,900): Posey got the night off Friday in the series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but expect him to return to the lineup Saturday against left-hander Patrick Corbin (4-6, 4.99 ERA). Posey is 10-for-31 in his career against Corbin and certainly stands out as one of the top catcher plays on Saturday’s slate.

Wilson Ramos, Nationals (4,500): Ramos’ breakout season has come at the expense of right-handed pitchers around MLB. The 28-year-old catcher is hitting .368 against righties this season, and his .340 overall average trails only teammate Daniel Murphy (.352) in the National League. Ramos is 1-for-3 with a double in his career against Cincinnati Reds starter Dan Straily (4-5, 4.38 ERA).

High Value

James McCann, Tigers (2,900): McCann makes for a viable value play every time he faces a left-handed pitcher. The 26-year-old is hitting .271 against lefties, compared to just .178 against righties. For less than 3,000, you could do worse than McCann, who faces Tampa Bay Rays southpaw Blake Snell (1-2, 3.54 ERA).

Nick Hundley, Rockies (2,500): Hundley is best viewed as a GPP-only option, but for such a discounted price, he’s worth a look against Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Scott Kazmir (6-3, 4.67 ERA). Hundley is hitless in two career at-bats against Kazmir, but he’s hitting nearly .300 (.297) against lefties this season.
