Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 2 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Mike Trout, Angels (5,600): Just a friendly reminder that Trout is on an absolute tear. Last-place Los Angeles (32-48) continues to struggle, having lost four straight, but Trout has 18 hits over his current eight-game hitting streak. He also has seven straight games of double-digit fantasy output. He’s an elite, albeit expensive, play on Saturday against Boston Red Sox righty Clay Buchholz (3-8, 5.90 ERA).

Kris Bryant, Cubs (5,300): If you don’t want to roll with Trout, another one of baseball’s brightest young stars makes sense. Bryant is also on a hot streak, having hit safely in eight of his last nine games, a stretch that includes six games of double-digit fantasy production. He’s a good bet to stay hot against New York Mets veteran Bartolo Colon (6-4, 2.86 ERA).

High Value

Cameron Maybin, Tigers (3,800): Maybin extended his current hitting streak to seven games on Friday and now has 14 total hits over that same stretch. He’s driven in seven runs over his last three games, and reached double-digit fantasy points in each of them. Maybin is hitting .420 against lefties this season, so he’s a solid play Saturday against Tampa Bay Rays southpaw Blake Snell (1-2, 3.54 ERA).

Seth Smith, Mariners (3,500): Smith enters the holiday weekend on a nice little run, having tallied six hits, including a pair of home runs, over his last three games. He continues to find success against right-handers (.284, all eight of his HRs), so he’s a decent play Saturday against Baltimore Orioles righty Tyler Wilson (4-5, 4.50 ERA).
