Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 2 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox (5,000): Bogaerts had a rare hitless game on Friday, but he still walked and drove in a run. In fact, Bogaerts hasn’t posted a fantasy score of zero points since June 16. He’s ultra-productive in Boston’s potent lineup and one of the safest players in DFS. And, if you needed more incentive, he’s 5-for-8 in his career against Los Angeles Angels starter Hector Santiago (4-4, 5.27 ERA).

Corey Seager, Dodgers (4,900): Seager, like Bogaerts, always produces something for fantasy purposes. He’s scored at least five DK points in 13 of his last 14 games. He continues to dominate right-handers (.316, 13 of his 17 HRs), so he’s a great play Saturday against Colorado Rockies righty Chad Bettis (6-5, 5.84 ERA).

High Value

Didi Gregorius, Yankees (3,100): Sure, Petco Park isn’t an ideal hitter’s ballpark, but anytime Gregorius is facing a left-hander, he’s worth a long look. The New York shortstop has piled up nine hits, including two home runs, over a modest five-game hitting streak. His .371 average against southpaws is the main selling point, however, as he faces San Diego lefty Drew Pomeranz (7-7, 2.76 ERA).

Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays (2,900): The 2016 season certainly pales in comparison to some of the other brilliant seasons from Tulowitzki’s career, but anytime you can get a player of this caliber for less than 3,000, it’s a steal. Besides, “Tulo” is actually on a nice run, having hit double digits in fantasy points in seven of his last 10 games. He’s a great value play Saturday against Cleveland Indians righty Zach McAllister (2-2, 3.20 ERA).
