The first day of free agency is in the books for the NBA and it was crazier than anyone could have imagined. Owners spent over a billion dollars on players on the first day and teams weren’t afraid to throw most of their cap space at players.

It was a day that saw middling players in the league get paid by stars and stars get paid record contracts. While the contracts might seem like a lot now, they are a reflection of the money that the league has brought in and therefore the players are able to cash in and be compensated for that success.

There were also deals that made a ton of sense and the prospects of a team are looking up moving forward. With a wild day of free agency in the books, here are the winners and losers from the first day of free agency.
