Recent NBA rumors have the Milwaukee Bucks ready to meet with veteran free agent guard Dwyane Wade after the holiday.

While it has always seemed most likely that Dwyane Wade will return to the Miami Heat, he is at least looking in to his other options. According to Marc Stein of ESPN, Wade is set to have a meeting with the Milwaukee Bucks after the Fourth of July holiday.

This could easily be looked at as Wade simply trying to get as much as he can from the Heat, but there is reason to believe that the Bucks would be an ideal situation for him to land in.

Led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton and Jabari Parker, the Bucks have an extremely young and athletic corps of players to build around. Wade’s veteran presence and ability to step up in big games would be a huge for the Bucks as they look to take the next step towards contention.

Also, with so many young and athletic players on the roster, the Bucks could bring Wade along slowly, allowing him to save his best for the postseason. With Wade on board, the Bucks could quickly become a strong contender in the East.

After signing Matthew Dellavedova and Mirza Teletovic already in free agency, the Bucks are not exactly in a great cap situation to sign Wade right now. That being said, Stein notes that moving big man Greg Monroe would create more than enough cap space to bring Wade in.

Wade heading back to Miami still remains the most likely scenario here, but the Bucks are an extremely interesting team who could easily appeal to him. If this meeting happens, I expect Wade would be impressed with what the Bucks have to offer him.

Whether he would actually leave Pat Riley and company in Miami though, remains to be seen.
