1. There is an arms race with Golden State

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors have played 13 games in the NBA Finals over the past two seasons. These two teams have played some of the most competitive basketball at the highest level the past two years and with each taking a series from the other, these two are bound to meet again in the NBA Finals and it’s going to be a war on the court.

Everyone knows that the Warriors loaded up their roster by adding Kevin Durant to the core. That makes them an even better team than they were and that’s saying something considering that they won 73 games last year and were within a game of winning two-straight NBA Finals.

If the Warriors are adding a Durant, then the Cavaliers can’t rest with the roster that they currently have. They’re more than likely going to run into Golden State again and they’re going to need more talent than what they have on the roster.

Adding a player like Wade, who can come in and run right away with the system in place is a must. Having someone that can handle the ball and help run the offense gives them more options and it will help the Cavaliers run a variety of looks.

The league has basically devolved into an arms race between the Warriors and Cavaliers, with the San Antonio Spurs trying to keep pace.

If the Cavaliers want to keep up, they need Wade.
