NBA Free Agency Rumors: Mavericks favorites to trade for Andrew Bogut
According to Marc Stein, the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as the favorites to trade for Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut.
The Golden State Warriors have agreed to terms with Kevin Durant. That is a move that will have several dominoes fall into place as the Warriors try to clear the cap space necessary to add him. One of those moves is trading center Andrew Bogut. It didn’t take long for his trade market to develop as Marc Stein reports that the Dallas Mavericks have emerged as the favorites to trade for him.
Sources say Dallas, furthermore, has emerged as a strong potential trade destination for Andrew Bogut, who the Warriors must now move.

Because the Warriors must move Bogut in order to sign Durant, the Mavericks could wind up with two good players from the Warriors. They will also reportedly sign Harrison Barnes to an offer sheet that the Warriors will most likely not match. That dynamic could make trade negotiations extremely interesting.
Anything that the Warriors can get for Bogut at this point is icing on the cake. They have already added Durant to go along with their already impressive core of players. Bogut played a huge role in the Warriors’ title win in 2015, but now he must be moved. Such is the ever changing world of the NBA.

The Mavericks must spend some money this offseason. There are a lot worse ways to improve than by signing Barnes and trading for Bogut. Barnes and Bogut are quality players who should help the Mavericks contend for the 2016-17 NBA season.
