What is the present position in the Eastern Conference totem pole for the New York Knicks?
With the New York Knicks seemingly revamping their roster in recent weeks, the Eastern Conference and the league as a whole should be taking notice. In the past two weeks alone, the New York Knicks have traded for Derrick Rose and agreed to deals with Joakim Noah and Courtney Lee.
The fact that Carmelo Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis are already manning the two forward positions, the additions of Rose, Noah, and Lee only solidify the rest of New York’s starting lineup and chances of reaching the playoffs for the first time in four seasons .
The Cleveland Cavilers are the champs and surely the favorites in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks also have to deal with the likes of the Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers within the East.
All of these teams have either kept their cores together from last season or have added significant players to their rosters such as the Hawks and Celtics nabbing Dwight Howard and Al Horford respectively in free agency or the Pacers trading for Jeff Teague and Thaddeus Young.
That presently puts the New York Knicks around the seventh best team in the East, just on their starting lineup alone. Though, the Knicks still have work to do to solidify their bench, with the rest of their roster looking very barren at the moment.
