Patrick Thistle set up job position for mascot.

Ever wanted to be a mascot for a professional sports team? How about a first division Scottish soccer club? Well if you said yes for both, than Patrick Thistle is in need of a new mascot.

In 2015, Patrick Thistle created their new mascot called Kingsley. Kingsley is suppose to be a happy and cheerful sun and represent their main sponsor Kingsford Capital, however many relate him to either Maggie from The Simpsons or a Teletubbie.

Kingsley got a lot of heat from people saying he would make them, “wet their pants” in fear and insulted him harshly. However many think he is the greatest mascot ever.

Now the club is looking for fans to become the new Kingsley, after their former mascot caretaker, Jay McGhee will retire from wearing the bright, sunny and kind of terrific character, as he is becoming a father soon. He told the BBC that, “I think it does look angry in photographs but when you see it in person it’s completely different, it’s seems like a happy face.”

“I knew it would be big when I first saw the costume, but nowhere near as big as it has been.”

He also noted that whoever takes charge now will need to be handy with duct tape to hold the costume together. Patrick Thistle have put out requirements for their new mascot position, and not just anybody can be the new Kingsley.

You first need to have a British drivers licence, then you need to be at least 16 and between 5’8-6’2. You also need to be outgoing, want to take pictures with fans, rally them and team up, and work on the weekends. They also tried to note that fans who want to become Kingsley get season tickets, get to travel Scotland and meet celebrities like David Hasselhoff.
