The new UFC 200 hype video ratcheted up the intensity for next Saturday’s matchups.
July 9th’s UFC 200 will feature some intense fights, including Cormier v Jones 2, Lesnar v Hunt, Tate v Nunes, and a rematch of Aldo and Nunes
For those new to MMA, the video explains the significance of the second bout between Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones, two fighters who have a fair amount of history between them. The two last met in UFC 182, with Jon Bones Jones taking the fight by decision. The two have sniped back and forth at each other over the days leading up to this match, with Jones claiming that Cormier doesn’t punch hard and generally claiming that he’s already in Cormier’s head. The two generally don’t like each other at all, which will make for an exciting title fight.
The main card was slated to include Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, but on April 19th McGregor tweeted out that he was retiring, and the UFC pulled his name from the card after revealing that it was a dispute over media obligations. McGregor has since announced that he is not retiring, but the UFC will not have him fight in UFC 200 regardless.
Another huge headline is the return of Brock Lesnar to MMA. This will be Lesnar’s first fight since 2011. It was rumored that Lesnar’s appearance in the UFC would hurt his standings in the WWE, but Lesnar isn’t worried about that.
All in all, UFC 200 is going to have much more happening outside the ring than previous UFC cards. It’s going to be a can’t-miss event, and this video is definitely helping the hype.
