These five teams will have the best chance of taking down the Golden State Warriors in the 2016-17 NBA season

The Golden State Warriors are out in the 2016 NBA free agency looking like The Godfather and there’s nothing that anyone can do about it. Even if they didn’t win the title, the Warriors are coming off of a regular season where they set the record with 73 wins and then were one win away from back-to-back championships.

So what do they do in free agency but go out and land the 2014 MVP in Kevin Durant as the most valuable player on the open market. Then just to make things even more unfair, they convinced one of the best veteran centers available in Zaza Pachulia to take well below what his market value would be on a contract and then did the same with David West.

Now the Warriors, who you could have argued would’ve been favorites even before the Durant signing, are now clearly the frontrunners to win the 2017 NBA Championship and it really doesn’t appear that close.

However, that’s one of the beautiful things about the NBA. Be it because of tricky matchups, the upside of rotations, and the shuffling of decks that we’ve seen around the league this offseason so far, anything can happen and even the super-teams are vulnerable in the right series or right matchups.

With that in mind, these are the five teams heading into the 2016-17 NBA season that have the best chances of knocking off Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and the Golden State Warriors.
