The opponent for Brock Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam is rumored to be one of the biggest named veterans in the company
Brock Lesnar is currently garnering buzz in the world of sports and entertainment far beyond just his work under contract with WWE. He’s going to be stepping back into the Octagon at UFC 200 in less than a week to face Mark Hunt in his return to mixed martial arts for what could be a titanic bout and that has everyone buzzing. After that, though, it’s likely back to pro wrestling and the question that everyone is asking is who Brock Lesnar will be facing at WWE SummerSlam 2016.
On the July 4 edition of WWE RAW, they revealed that Brock Lesnar’s opponent will be revealed on WWE Smackdown, which tapes on Tuesday nights (for now) and airs on Thursdays. However, a Reddit user who has broken at least one big WWE scoop reported on r/squaredcircle on Tuesday morning who Brock will be facing at WWE SummerSlam.
According to these rumors, it will be Brock Lesnar vs. “The Viper” Randy Orton at WWE SummerSlam 2016 from Brooklyn, NY.
This match could be something quite special if this is indeed the way that WWE plans to go with Brock Lesnar after his UFC bout.
Despite their longer tenures in WWE, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton haven’t faced one another since 2002 and this has been one of the matches still left on the table that many fans haven’t seen.
Moreover, Orton has been out for what’s quickly approaching a year with a shoulder injury, but now he’s apparently ready to take to the ring again and face The Beast Incarnate in the process.
Plus, you can’t tell me you’re not excited to see an F-5 into an RKO.
