Identifying the top high salary and value pitcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 6 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Johnny Cueto, Giants (11,800): A matchup with the Colorado Rockies’ potent lineup is always a bit dicey, but Cueto has simply been fantastic this season. His 12 wins are tied for the second-most in the majors, and his 2.57 ERA ranks fifth in the National League. He’s scored at least 25 DK points in four of his last five starts. Cueto is a solid option on Wednesday.

Tanner Roark, Nationals (10,500): Roark (7-5, 2.93 ERA) had his best outing in recent weeks on June 26 against the same opponent he faces Wednesday — Milwaukee. The Brewers are always a team to target with pitching, simply because they lead the majors in strikeouts (786). Roark, by default, has double-digit strikeout upside in this solid home matchup.

High Value

Drew Smyly, Rays (8,100): It hasn’t been a great year for the left-handed Smyly (2-9, 5.33 ERA), but he draws a favorable home matchup Wednesday against the last-place Los Angeles Angels. Mike Trout is always a threat, but outside of him, the Angels are light on intimidating hitters. Smyly has double-digit strikeout potential when he’s locked in, and for this discounted price, he’s worth a roll of the dice.

Bud Norris, Dodgers (6,000): Norris is far from a safe bet, but he looked strong in his Dodgers debut this past Friday, tossing six shutout innings with eight strikeouts against Colorado. Norris will again be starting at home, this time against one of his former teams, the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore’s offense is solid, so Norris is best viewed as a cheap GPP option.
