Identifying the top high salary and value shortstop plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 6 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Danny Espinosa, Nationals (5,200): Espinosa is in the midst of an impressive run, having tallied 14 hits over his last nine games. That includes a pair of multi-home run games, and five long balls overall. The switch-hitting shortstop is on pace to shatter his career mark for home runs in a season (21), and he stands out as one of the top plays on Wednesday’s slate.

Xander Bogaerts, Red Sox (4,900): Bogaerts has cooled off a bit over recent weeks, though his .332 average still ranks fifth overall in the majors. He has just four hits in five games through the month of July, but he’s a great play Wednesday at Fenway Park against Texas lefty Martin Perez (7-4, 3.39 ERA). Bogaerts is hitting .339 against left-handers this season.

High Value

Troy Tulowitzki, Blue Jays (3,900): Remember Tulowitzki’s dreadful start to the season? It’s a thing of the past now. “Tulo” has 12 hits over his last seven games, including four home runs. He’s reached double-digit DK points in five straight and 11 of his last 14 games overall. He’s also homered three times in his career against veteran Ian Kennedy (6-7, 4.04 ERA). What’s not to love about Tulowitzki?

Jose Reyes, Mets (3,200): Reyes had a quiet season debut for the Mets on Tuesday, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. He’s someone to consider on Wednesday, especially for GPPs at such a discounted price. New York faces Miami left-hander Justin Nicolino (2-4, 5.34 ERA), a matchup the switch-hitting Reyes could exploit.
