NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.
Bud Norris will be facing one of his former teams in the Orioles, who are hitting .324 off of him in 37 at bats. he has struck out nine though, but again, using a middle tier pitcher against the Orioles could blow up in your face.
Kevin Gausman has never faced the Dodgers. He has okay numbers with a 3.97 ERA and 1.27 WHIP despite the 1-6 record. Using him against the Dodgers and Norris may not be a horrible idea.
Tyrell Jenkins has posted a 5.79 ERA in relief for the Braves, and will take the hill against the Phillies in place of Julio Teheran. You should look elsewhere in search of a replacement as well.

Next: Pitcher Picks

Best Bets:
Tanner Roark ($10,500): Roark pitched seven shutout innings against the Brewers back on June 26th, racking up 29 DraftKings points in the process. Now you see why he is this high priced. The Brewers have now slipped to .207 off of Roark in 58 at bats with just three runs scored and nine strikeouts. You have to feel comfortable using him, especially in a smaller slate.
Jeremy Hellickson ($9,200): We know all there is to know about Hellickson. He is a decent pitcher who will never post high strikeout numbers, or elite numbers in any way. So why is he so expensive? Rookie Zach Eflin, who had a 5.75 ERA coming into the game, gave up one run in a complete game victory. Hellickson could certainly do the same. He also has decent career numbers against the Braves. They are hitting .247 against him in 77 at bats with three homers and 12 strikeouts. Nick Markakis has two of those homers in 41 at bats despite a .220 average.
Honorable Mention:
Anthony DeSclafani ($8,900): Yes, he is facing the Cubs, but DeSclafani hasn’t had much trouble with the Cubs. The North Siders are only hitting .237 off of him in 93 at bats with one homer, a modest nine runs, and a high 25 strikeouts. There is potential for a good afternoon here from DeSclafani, but he is still a slight risk.
Dark Horse:
Adam Warren ($4,200): The Reds are just 1-7 with a single and a strikeout against Warren in his relief appearances against them. How deep will he go in this game? That is the only thing that is risky here. Otherwise, this looks like a strong play.
Next: Other Notes For July 6

Don’t look now, but the Marlins are hitting .312 in 125 at bats against Jacob deGrom. They have not homered off of him, but they are having no problems scoring runs either, as they have 13 of them. Justin Bour ($4,000) is 5-9 with two walks, a double, and three RBI. Chris Johnson ($2,000) is 5-14(.357) with a double and three RBI. Marcell Ozuna ($3,800) is 6-19(.316) with a walk, a double, and two RBI. They may not get you a lot, but at this price, getting high single digits may help you out.
Matt Garza has a decent 3.74 ERA this year, but the Nationals are hitting .320 against him in 122 at bats. Danny Espinosa ($5,200) is only 4-17(.235) off Garza, but he has a walk, a double and seven RBI. Wilson Ramos ($4,400) is 6-16(.375) with a walk, a double, a homer, and six RBI. Jayson Werth ($3,600) is 8-20 with a walk, three doubles, a homer, and two RBI. Ryan Zimmerman ($3,300) is 6-16(.375) with five walks, a double, and three RBI.
Addison Russell ($3,500) is 3-8 with a walk, a double, and four RBI against Anthony DeSclafani. Kris Bryant ($5,400) is 4-12 with a double and two RBI. Miguel Montero ($2,900) is 2-6 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI. What really brings the numbers down is Anthony Rizzo‘s 1-17(.059) mark.
Billy Butler ($3,000) is 8-37(.216) against Ervin Santana, but he has six walks, a double, five homers, and nine RBI against him. Coco Crisp ($4,800) is only 4-24, but he does have a homer and four RBI off of Ervin.
Brian Dozier ($4,900) is 3-7 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Sonny Gray. The good news for Gray is that he doesn’t have to face Trevor Plouffe, who has a homer and four RBI off of him in just seven at bats.
Both Travis d’Arnaud and Yoenis Cespedes have homered against Justin Nicolino in five combined at bats.
