In what is seen as a stunning upset in free agency, Dwyane Wade left the Miami Heat after 13 seasons to join the Chicago Bulls. Wade brought three championships to Miami in his term with the Heat and many thought he would be a part of the organization for life.

While it’s shocking, Wade will be going home to Chicago and he will have a chance to live out one of his childhood dreams from when he was a kid. After Wade made the decision to head back home and play for the Bulls, he released a statement to The Associated Press.

If Wade was ever going to leave Miami, it’s nice to see him go back home and fulfill a dream of his. It’s hard right now for Heat fans to see him go, but at the same time, it’s important to remember everything that he did during his time there.

Now, he can play in front of a crowd that has waited many years for him.
