Third Baseman

High-Salary Option: Nolan Arenado-Colorado Rockies (4,400):  Arenado took the collar yesterday going 0-4 with a strikeout in the Rockies 5-1 loss in San Francisco.  He had a rough trip overall going just 4-24 in the six games away from Coors Field.

However, I expect him to bounce back tonight as he returns home where he is hitting .309 with a 1.042 OPS.  He’ll also get to take on a lefty in Adam Morgan tonight, and he has split favorably against southpaws throughout his career as well as this season. Getting home should turn him around, but his recent struggles do make him a little riskier than he usually is at this price. ∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Maikel Franco-Philadelphia Phillies (3,800)Franco has homers in four straight games and posted at least 12 fantasy points in eight of his last ten games.  He has started July a red-hot 11-22 (.500) with those four homers.  Franco and the Phils are at Coors tonight, so he’s sure to be a popular play given his recent run and his trip to the home run haven of Coors Field.∗∗∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Kris Bryant-Chicago Cubs (3,700): Bryant has hit seven homers in his last ten games while driving in 13 runs.  His OPS on the season is .943, and he’s always a good play when he’s under 4K.  Add to that the fact that the Cubs are facing the pitching-poor Braves, and Bryant is a very good option to consider for tonight’s game.∗∗

Mid-Range Option: Yangervis Solarte-San Diego Padres (3,200): Padres 3B Yangervis Solarte  has hit safely in 11  of his last 12 games raising his average from .255 to .308. He has gone 11-23 (.478)  over his first six games of July with three home runs and nine RBI over that span.  He has hit well away from Petco Park all season with a 1.092 road OPS.  Tonight, he’ll also be in a good matchup against lefty Hyun-Jin Ryu.  Solarte is 15-40 (.375) against southpaws this season with a 1.082 OPS.∗∗∗∗

High-Value Option: Cheslor Cuthbert-Kansas City Royals (2,500): Cuthbert went 0-3 last night against Toronto, but he continues to hit in the middle of the Royals lineup on a nightly basis and be a solid cheap play.  He especially makes sense tonight against James Paxton since he has an .808 OPS against lefties this season.
