Identifying the top high salary and value catcher plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 8 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Buster Posey, Giants (4,600): Posey is hitting .315 against left-handers this season, almost 40 points higher than he is against righties. It should come as little surprise, then, that he’s had success against Arizona southpaw Patrick Corbin (10-for-32, two doubles). Posey is always a solid play, but Friday’s matchup makes him the top catching option on the board.

J.T. Realmuto, Marlins (4,000): The 25-year-old Realmuto, in just his second full MLB season, has moved into fifth in the National League with his .320 average. The move into the leadoff spot in place of the suspended Dee Gordon has benefitted Realmuto greatly. He’s hitting .358 against righties this season, so his Friday matchup with Cincinnati right-hander Dan Straily (4-5, 4.34 ERA) works in his favor.

High Value

Jason Castro, Astros (3,200): Here’s the usual disclaimer with Castro: His all-or-nothing tendencies make him perfectly suited for GPPs. That being said, he’s worth a look against Oakland Athletics rookie right-hander Daniel Mengden (1-4, 3.48 ERA). All six of his home runs this season have come against righties.

Sandy Leon, Red Sox (3,000): We might as well continue to ride this wave of success until it ends. Leon has been nothing short of brilliant in his 16 games with Boston this season. He has seven hits over his last three games, a stretch that includes four doubles and 41 DraftKings points. For this cheap price, he’s worth rolling out in a few GPP lineups.
