Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 8 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Carlos Gonzalez, Rockies (5,300): Gonzalez has hit safely in four of his last five games, but he hasn’t had a home run or RBI since June 28. That could change Friday against hard-throwing Philadelphia Phillies righty Vince Velasquez (7-2, 3.34 ERA). “CarGo” has already homered off Velasquez in his career, and is hitting .345 against right-handers this season. And, just for good measure, his average at Coors Field is .362. Start Gonzalez with confidence.

Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins (4,900): Well, this is more like it. Stanton is finally starting to flex his prodigious power at the plate, having launched four home runs over his last two games. Thirteen of his 19 home runs this season have come against right-handers, so even though he’s never faced Cincinnati Reds starter Dan Straily (4-5, 4.34 ERA), he’s a good bet to stay hot on Friday.

High Value

Jacoby Ellsbury, Yankees (3,500): Ellsbury has largely become a fantasy afterthought over the last two years in New York, but he’s quietly playing well of late. His .282 average is his highest since leaving Boston in 2013, and his 16 stolen bases rank eighth in the majors. He’s 4-for-8 in his career against Cleveland righty Corey Kluber (8-8, 3.79 ERA). He’s an intriguing play on Friday.

Adam Duvall, Reds (3,400): How can a player with 22 home runs that’s regularly priced in the mid-to-high 4,000s be this cheap? Easy — a matchup with ace Jose Fernandez (10-4, 2.69 ERA). Before you write him off, consider that Duvall’s home run upside makes him an ideal play in GPPs. Plus, Fernandez allowed nine runs (six earned) against Atlanta in his last start, so he’s not invincible.
