NOTE: these picks are based solely on statistics. Some players have never faced their opponents, or have very little experience against them. I am not saying that none of those are good picks. The highest scorer of the day could be someone with no experience against his opponent. This is based on statistical analysis only. If you have a gut feeling, then by all means, follow that. This is not an exact science. The best lineups usually have a mix of proven stats and hot players.
Julio Teheran is coming off his worst start of the season (five runs and 11 hits in 6.2 innings to the Marlins), and is heading to a AL park to take on the White Sox. Are you sure his thigh is ready? I don’t know if I’m that sure for his price ($12,300).
Nick Tropeano has never faced the Orioles. His 3-2 record and 3.28 ERA look nice, but the 1.51 WHIP could be a harbinger of things to come. He is a risky play today.
John Lamb has never faced the Marlins, but his 5.43 ERA and 1.56 WHIP should keep you clear of this. However, right handers like Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna could pay off against Lamb.

Next: Pitcher Picks

Best Bet:
Carlos Martinez ($9,300): Martinez has dominated the Brewers so far in his career. The Brew Crew is only hitting .217 against Martinez in 60 at bats with only two extra base hits, three runs scored, and 20 strikeouts. This looks like a really good matchup for Carlos.
Honorable Mention:
Lance McCullers ($9,700): The A’s own a healthy average against McCullers (.268 in 41 at bats), but they have not done much damage. They only have three runs and have struck out 11 times. That whiff rate is enough to consider McCullers one of the top pitchers of the afternoon. He was solid against Oakland back on June 5th, giving up two runs on eight hits in seven innings while striking out nine. Expect a similar performance today.
Dark Horse:
Wade Miley ($5,600): The Royals are only hitting .225 against Miley in 102 at bats with just two homers, four runs, and 14 strikeouts. The strikeout total is very low, so there is more incurred risk since he wont have strikeouts to help mitigate the damage, but the career numbers speak for themselves. One of those homers was hit my Mike Moustakas, who is currently on the DL. If you take out Moose’s and Lorenzo Cain‘s stats, the average dips all the way to .205. If you are looking for a sleeper, this is it!
Next: Who Are The Best Stacks?

You have heard our FanDuel experts Matt Rogers and Brian Tulloch talk about “stacking” pieces of a lineup against certain pitchers. Here are the stacks that could work well on DraftKings today, based on past statistics.
Rick Porcello has been plagued by the long ball against the Rays. Newly acquired Oswaldo Arcia ($3,300) is 3-8 with two walks, a double, a homer, and two RBI. Corey Dickerson ($3,400) is only 2-7, but he does have a solo homer. Logan Forsythe ($3,400) is 5-14(.357) with a triple and two walks. Evan Longoria ($3,500) is 8-33(.242), but he does have two walks, three doubles, and three RBI. Brad Miller ($4,100) is 2-8 with two solo homers off of Porcello.
There could be a home run stack available today against CC Sabathia. Chris Gimenez ($2,500) is 5-12 with three walks, a double, and two RBI. Mike Napoli ($4,900) is 10-41(.244) with four walks, three doubles, two homers, and eight RBI against Sabathia. Yan Gomes ($2,500) is 1-4 with a walk, but the hit is a two run homer. You are covered no matter which catcher Cleveland uses! Carlos Santana ($4,700) is 6-14(.429) with walk, a homer, and two driven in. Juan Uribe ($3,300) is only 9-49(.184), but he has a walk, two triples, a homer, and three RBI against Sabathia.
Matt Moore has pitched better lately, but he has never pitched well against the Red Sox. That is until June 29th, when Moore held the Sox scoreless in seven innings. Mookie Betts ($5,200) is 5-9 with a double and a solo homer. Xander Bogaerts ($4,500) is 5-10 with a walk, two doubles, and two RBI. David Ortiz ($4,600), despite the lefty-lefty matchup, is 8-23(.348) with two walks, two doubles, three homers, and eight RBI. Dustin Pedroia ($4,100) is only 4-20, but he has a walk, two doubles, a homer, and three RBI against Moore. Travis Shaw ($4,200) is 5-10 with a walk, a double, a homer, and three RBI against Moore. Of course, you could play with fire and play him for a discount rate ($6,100) to see if he can shut down the Sox in Fenway.
You may want to stack Snakes against Jake Peavy. Michael Bourn ($3,500) is 5-12(.417) with a walk and a solo homer. Wellington Castillo ($3,200) is 3-6 with a walk and a solo homer as well. Paul Goldschmidt ($4,400) is 3-12 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Peavy. Jake Lamb ($5,400) is only 3-13(.231), but he has a walk, a double, a triple, and two RBI off Peavy. Rickie Weeks ($2,600) is 5-11(.455) with two walks, a double, and a RBI.
Next: More Notes For 7-9

If Jeff Francoeur ($2,600) is in the lineup in the AL park, you may want to take a shot on him. He is 6-10 with three walks, a double, and a solo homer against Jose Quintana.
Brett Gardner ($3,100) didn’t come through against Corey Kluber, but maybe he can against Danny Salazar. Gardner is 2-6 with a walk, a homer, and two RBI against Salazar. Brian McCann ($3,500) is 2-6 with two walks and two solo homers.
Yonder Alonso ($2,600) is 2-2 with a walk, a double, and two RBI against Lance McCullers. Stephen Vogt ($3,100) is 3-6, but has no counting stats.
Aledmys Diaz ($5,000) hit a solo homer against Chase Anderson last weekend. Can he do it this weekend as well?
Albert Pujols ($4,600) loves Yovani Gallardo from their days in the NL Central. Pujols is 13-30(.433) with five walks, two doubles, four homers, and a whopping 12 RBI against Gallardo. Andrelton Simmons ($3,800), who isn’t known as much of a hitter, is a perfect 4-4 against Gallardo with a solo homer.
Brandon Belt ($3,700) is 2-4 with a walk, a double, and two RBI against Robbie Ray, despite the lefty on lefty matchup.
The Royals have been dominated by Wade Miley, with the exception of one: Salvador Perez ($2,700). Perez is 5-9 with a homer and three RBI against Miley.
Nelson Cruz ($4,800), Robinson Cano ($5,100), and Adam Lind ($3,900) are a combined 7-16(.438) with five RBI against Edinson Volquez.
Jose Altuve ($5,400) is 3-9 with a homer and three RBI against Kendall Graveman, Evan Gattis ($3,400) is 2-5 with a homer and two RBI. If Colby Rasmus ($3,900) can play, he is worth a look. Rasmus is 4-6 with a walk, two doubles, and a RBI against Graveman.
