Identifying the top high salary and value outfielder plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 9 DraftKings lineup.
Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.
As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.
High Salary
Mike Trout, Angels (5,600): Trout is certainly one of baseball’s top overall talents, if not the most versatile player in the game. He’s reached double digits in DK points in 12 of his last 14 games, a stretch that includes four home runs, but also five stolen bases. He’s in a great matchup Saturday against Yovani Gallardo (3-1, 6.10 ERA), against whom he is 2-for-3 in his career.
Giancarlo Stanton, Marlins (5,500): Stanton didn’t keep his home run streak going on Friday, but he did double to push his modest hitting streak to five games. He’s hitting .250 with a .583 slugging percentage against left-handers this season, so he’s a strong play Saturday against Cincinnati Reds southpaw John Lamb (1-5, 5.43 ERA). The home-run upside is always there.
High Value
Corey Dickerson, Rays (3,400): Dickerson had a nice series opener at Boston on Friday, going 2-for-3 with a double (12 DK points). He’s hitting .417 at Fenway Park this season, and should be in line for another solid game Saturday against Rick Porcello (10-2, 3.82 ERA). Dickerson is 2-for-7 with a double and home run in his career against Porcello.
Matt Kemp, Padres (3,200): Kemp has been quiet through the first two games of the road series against his former team, but Saturday’s matchup offers solid upside. Kemp and the Padres will face Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Brandon McCarthy, who will be making just his second start of the season. Kemp is 6-for-12 in his career against McCarthy, and for this cheap price, he’s a solid value play.
