Identifying the top high salary and value third baseman plays from around Major League Baseball for your July 9 DraftKings lineup.

Our goal is to help you win DraftKings contests with consistently strong lineups. To accomplish that, we’ll be highlighting some higher salary players worth paying up for, and some value picks that will help you save salary in key areas. These picks are specifically for DraftKings lineups, so all references to prices and fantasy points are based on DK figures.

As always, be sure to double-check final MLB lineups and monitor weather situations before locking in your DFS lineups.

High Salary

Jake Lamb, Diamondbacks (5,400): Lamb had his eight-game hitting streak snapped on Friday, but he’s in an ideal spot to start a new one on Saturday. Lamb, who is hitting .313 against righties this season, draws a matchup with San Francisco Giants veteran Jake Peavy (5-7, 5.14 ERA). The matchup would be fantasy gold at Chase Field, but Lamb is still an elite play at AT&T Park.

Maikel Franco, Phillies (5,200): Franco enters play Saturday on an eight-game hitting streak that includes six games of double-digit DK points. He’s 3-for-8 with a pair of doubles through the first two games against Colorado, and should keep that momentum going Saturday against lefty Tyler Anderson (0-3, 3.03 ERA).

High Value

Martin Prado, Marlins (3,900): Prado rarely explodes for a monster fantasy performance, but he’s a nice, steady option that can work well in cash lineups. That’s especially true this season against left-handed pitchers, as Prado is hitting .375 against southpaws. Miami is expected to do some damage (5.2 expected runs) against Cincinnati lefty John Lamb (1-5, 5.43 ERA), so Prado should benefit.

David Freese, Pirates (3,600): Freese should be viewed as a GPP-only option, but there is upside here. He’s 5-for-13 (.385) in his career against left-hander Jon Lester (9-4, 2.67 ERA). He’s also homered in back-to-back games and hit double-digit DK points in three straight games. For this reasonable price, Freese offers nice value.
