Sunday’s slate kicks off at 1:07PM EST with 15 games of MLB action to choose from when building your FanDuel MLB rosters! The Main slate on Sunday at 1:07 PM EST includes the first 11 games of the day and will be our key focus today.
I will continue to track winning Tournament lineups and compare trends over 5 day periods to help us understand what it takes to remain profitable. I HIGHLY recommend each of you do this each morning to look back on the previous night and understand how the winning lineups are constructed in the games you participate in.
The view below tracks GPP entries over various time periods, breaking out key metrics to understand the trends and compositions of GPP winning rosters:
Time Period | Score | Pitcher Salary | Pitcher % | Hitter % | Hitter $/Player | Value |
Season | 256.1 | $ 8,609 | 25% | 75% | $ 3,299 | 7.32 |
5 Day | 252.1 | $ 7,870 | 22% | 78% | $ 3,391 | 7.20 |
Prev Day | 285.5 | $ 10,100 | 29% | 71% | $ 3,113 | 8.16 |
Now on to the picks…For more DFS Strategy insights, check out my latest article to help take your game to the next level! I highly recommend gamers track their game performance across the various types of games they play – GPP’s, Cash, Multipliers etc – as this simple exercise will help teach you more about profitable roster construction than you can imagine.
Next: Who are the top pitching options on Sunday's Main Slate?

The Sunday main slate sets up ideally for us to pay up at starting pitcher as we will not have the Coors Fields bats to account for when building our FanDuel MLB lineups.
Carlos Carrasco ($10,300) at home versus NYY: Over the last month, Carrasco has been pitching as well as any pitcher in baseball and he has the highest point per game output of any starter on the Sunday main slate. Carrasco has averaged 49 points per start which at this price point would be 4.7x value – also the top ranked pitcher in that metric on Sunday’s slate.
So stepping back, we have a pitcher who has not only been putting up the most points per start but is also the best point per dollar hurler on the slate.
Carrasco also has great career numbers against the Yankees, limiting them to .187 average and only 1 HR in 80 at bats while striking out 25% of the batters he has faced.
Next: What hitters should we target on Sunday afternoon?

Looking over the main slate, there are multiple favorable spots to target offense on the final day of the first half before we (GULP) take a few day breather for the All Star Break, so let’s make it count!
Mark Trumbo ($3,400) at home versus RHP Tim Lincecum: Trumbo is one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball right now having homered in 3 straight games and is averaging 16.1 points per game over the last two weeks which is the third highest of any OF in baseball. With his recent production, we are getting an elite hitter on an absolute tear at a price point that is easy to slot in.
Marlins RHB at home versus LHP Cody Reed: Many of us were let down on Saturday as the Marlins hitters were not able to take advantage of a Reds LHP so let’s go back to the well here as the same logic applies and hopefully gamers will shy away after being burned.
In a limited sample size, Reed has been brutal this season against RHB, surrendering a .365 average and 7 home runs in 16 IP.
Giancarlo Stanton ($3,800) and Marcell Ozuna ($3,500) make for a great mini-stack but do not overlook J.T. Realmuto ($2,600) who continues to hit at the top of the order and makes a great addition to an all out Marlins attack!
