Here are five events that should be added to the MLB All-Star Game festivities.

The MLB All-Star Game is already the best all-star game in sports without question. However, the one area that it is noticeably lacking in is events and festivities. Even the NBA All-Star Game has the three point contest, slam dunk contest, and North America versus The World game. The NHL All-Star Game has the skills competition, which is often more entertaining than the game itself. Baseball does not have anything like that other than the Home Run Derby and the celebrity softball game.

Everybody looks forward to the All-Star festivities at the NBA All-Star Game. Even though the slam dunk contest has become a farce at best, some of the most memorable moments from the All-Star Game have actually come from the slam dunk contest. Anyone who watched Shea Weber win the Hardest Shot competition in Nashville at the NHL All-Star Skills Competition will not soon forget it. In fairness, the Home Run Derby has created a ton of unforgettable moments as well. So why not create more?

The Home Run Derby shouldn’t be the only meaningful skills competition for the All-Star Game. Here are five other events that should be added.
