The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly considering trading Yasiel Puig before the deadline.

We are weeks away from the MLB Trade Deadline, and already we’re hearing big names get kicked out from the rumor mill. While nothing is official until it happens, hearing names out there seems to fan flames that could eventually end with a deal being made.

Yasiel Puig is a name that has been tossed out onto the trade market before — rumor or otherwise — but it appears that he’s back out there again in the most serious way yet.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Dodgers will be kicking around the idea of moving on from Yasiel Puig at the trade deadline.

This doesn’t mean that Puig will be moved by the Dodgers, but he’s certainly an intriguing target for a team that is looking to take a gamble on a guy who has talent, among other things. We’ve seen Puig be a guy that can become an All-Star Home Run star who is the cover boy for MLB video games, but he’s also had setbacks with his character and his motivation in the dugout.

Los Angeles has given him a ton of chances, and have stuck by him through a lot but now might be the time to sell as high as they can on Puig. Someone like the Mets, Yankees, Marlins or some other team looking to really turn the tide in the second half could take a chance on Puig, but there’s no guarantee that he’ll have as much pull on the market that he once did.
