The MLB All-Star Game is one of the best traditions in baseball and there are several events that proceed the game. Every year, the festivities kick off with the annual All-Star Futures Game.

This year, the event takes place at Petco Park in San Diego. The best prospects from each organization will compete against each other in a Team USA vs. Team World setting.

With the Padres hosting the event, two representatives from the Padres’ organization will manage each team. Trevor Hoffman will be coaching the Americans, while Moises Alou will manage the international team.

The players that take place in the Futures game are usually the top prospects that everyone wants to see called up to their main team soon. It’s always a great game every year and both teams really go all out trying to shine on the big stage, knowing they might not get that moment again.
