The Denver Broncos are making a strong push to sign Von Miller.

Von Miller is one of the best players in the National Football League, having racked up 60 sacks in his first five seasons. Now, Milled wants to be paid like it, and the Broncos are apparently coming around.

According to Mike Klis of KUSA, general manager John Elway has added more money to his offer for Miller. Miller’s camp has decided to sleep on the offer with an answer coming on Saturday. Previously, Denver offered six years and $114.5 million with $38.5 million guaranteed, so we can surmise that Elway probably went to around $50 million in guarantees.

The two sides have until July 15 to work out a long-term deal. Miller is on the exclusive franchise tag, which means no team can negotiate with him. However, should a contract not get done, Miller has stated he would sit out the entire season, virtually a death null for the defending champions.

In reality, Miller has to be looking for at least $65 million guaranteed. Justin Houston is a comparable player and signed for $51 million guaranteed last year, but that was before the cap spiked another $10 million. In addition, Miller just dominated the playoffs and won Super Bowl Most Valuable player. He’s also got to be paid more than Olivier Vernon and Fletcher Cox, who received $52 million and $63 million guaranteed, respectively.
