The SEC released the 2016 SEC Championship Game logo on Monday for the 25th anniversary
While the national championship is the most coveted prize in all of college football, not many can argue that the second biggest game of the year that has everyone intrigued is the annual SEC Championship Game. This year marks a milestone anniversary for the contest, so of course, you have to get the flashy new logo.
With SEC Media Days beginning on Monday, we were able to get our first glimpse of the logo for the 2016 SEC Championship Game, the 25th anniversary of the contest that showcases two of the best teams the south has to offer each and every year.
As you can see in the tweet, not only is the 25th anniversary of the game, but it’ll also be the last one that will be played in Atlanta. Come 2017, the two best teams in the SEC from their respective divisions will do battle inside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. So, needless to say, the SEC title game this season holds a tremendous amount of weight in history.
But when the game is played, that will be the logo that you will see on the field when it takes place for the final time in Atlanta.
