The MLB All-Star Game is in San Diego and the events got kicked off with the All-Star Futures Game and Celebrity Softball Game on Sunday. On Monday, it’s everyone’s favorite event, as the 2016 Home Run Derby will take place at Petco Park.

It will be interesting to see how the league’s best hitters handle the pitcher friendly combines of San Diego. This year, the event is set up a little differently and the hitters are seeded by number of home runs.

Therefore, it isn’t the same number of hitters from each league. The No. 1 seed in the Home Run Derby is Mark Trumbo of the Baltimore Orioles. He will be joined by fellow American League participants Robinson Cano and Todd Frazier. Frazier is the defending champion of the event.

Here is the complete list of American League participants.

  • Mark Trumbo – Baltimore Orioles
  • Robinson Cano – Seattle Mariners
  • Todd Frazier – Chicago White Sox

Will one of the hitters from the American League come out on top this year?
