National League All-Star lineup announced
Here is the National League lineup for the 2016 MLB All-Star Game.
National League Manager Terry Collins of the 2015 National League Champion New York Mets has selected his starting lineup for the 2016 MLB All-Star Game:
1. Ben Zobrist, 2B
2. Bryce Harper, RF
3. Kris Bryant, 3B
4. Wil Myers, DH
5. Buster Posey, C
6. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
7. Marcel Ozuna, C
8. Carlos Gonzalez, LF
9. Addison Russel, SS
The NL starting lineup will feature a total of four Chicago Cubs (Zobrist, Bryant, Rizzo, Russel), marking the first time in All-Star Game history that an entire infield will consist of players from a single team.
Manager Collins also rewarded hometown player Wil Myers of the San Diego Padres with his first All-Star Game start. He will be batting clean-up for his squad as the DH. Myers, who won the 2013 American League Rookie of the Year in 2013, will also compete in Monday’s Home Run Derby.

After much speculation and uncertainty, San Fransisco Giants pitcher Johnny Cueto has earned the nod and will start for the NL, matching up against Chicago White Sox ace Chris Sale.
Even with injuries and unavailability forcing aces such as Noah Syndergaard, Madison Bumgarner and Clayton Kershaw out of contention, Cueto certainly earned the honor by leading the NL with 13 wins and compiling a tremendous 2.47 ERA, 115 strikeouts and 1.00 WHIP in his first season in the Bay Area.
The 2016 MLB All-Star Game will be played at San Diego’s Petco Park on Tuesday, July 12. The winner of the game will again earn home field advantage for their league in the upcoming World Series.
