Rudy Gobert is pretty good at making sure that basketballs do not find their way into the rim like they are supposed to when he is playing defense. So it feels safe to assume that he is also pretty good at making sure that Pokemon do not go wherever they want to when he is playing Pokemon Go! which he is apparently doing at the Las Vegas Summer League.

While it is kind of disappointing that Gobert only saw a Spearow it is cool that an NBA player is having fun and playing a game that so many people are enjoying right now.

More from NBA

Considering how popular Vegas is though, it seems strange that Gobert only has 63 pokeballs. There have to be Pokestops all over the place, he should know better and stock up.

Really though the most important part of this revelation is that we now know that Gordon Hayward will have some competition to run the Gym closest to the Utah Jazz facilities in Salt Lake City. I would love to be around to see the first Gobert vs. Hayward battle when the two get to training camp. My guess is Hayward puts in more time and has a better collection, but you never know with Rudy who may be going to Rio for the Olympics which could give him a chance to get some cool Pokemon from a unique region for most NBA players at this time.
